If you think you’re a victim of gum disease, then it’s important to call The Office of Dr. Henry Espinosa and schedule an appointment with our dentist, Dr. Henry Espinosa. Gum disease is a serious and dangerous dental issue that has two stages. The first stage is gingivitis and the second stage is periodontitis. There are treatments available to help with each stage. Our dental team is happy to tell you all about them. Those treatments are:

For Gingivitis
-Dental checkup (The cleaning treatment provided at your regular appointments remove plaque and tartar from your teeth and gumline, which can eliminate the gingivitis and restore your oral health.)

-Pristine oral hygiene (It’s very important to clean your teeth and gums regularly by brushing twice a day, flossing once a day and rinsing your mouth with mouthwash once a day.)

For Periodontitis
-Scaling and root planing (This involves removing the plaque and tartar from your teeth and roots and then smoothing the roots to prevent bacteria buildup.)

-Pocket reduction treatment (This involves cleaning the gum pocket, folding back the gum tissue, smoothing the areas of damaged bone, and promoting health and reattachment in the gum tissues.)

-Gum grafts (This involves covering exposed roots with tissues from the palate.)

-Bone grafts (This involves helping damaged bone by placing natural or synthetic bone and tissue-stimulating proteins to the jaw.)

-More frequent cleaning appointments (You will need to attend your checkups every 3-4 months to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape.)
